CHANGE IN COMPONENT STOCKS

31 May 2002, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia-The RHB Equity Indices Committee wishes to announce the following changes to the RHBuTech Index and RHBuIslamic Index:

RHBuTech Index

Effective 3 June 2002, two stocks in the RHBuTech Index - TRANS CAPITAL HOLDINGS BERHAD and UTUSAN MELAYU (MALAYSIA) BERHAD - will be excluded from the Index, as they do not meet with the minimum liquidity requirements under the rules of the RHB Tech Index.

As a result of the above, the following stocks will comprise the component stocks of the RHBuTech Index from 3 June 2002:

RHBuTech Index Component Stocks - KLSE Second Board.

The RHBuTech Index, Malaysia's first technology index launched February 2000, is designed to be a broad trading basket of major listed technology companies in Malaysia. Currently, a total of 26 Malaysian stocks have been included in the Index. The Index qualifying constituents comprise stocks listed on the KLSE and encompass technology providers, computer service providers, Internet and software providers.

RHBuIslamic Index

Effective 3 June 2002, 153 counters will be added as component stocks of the RHBuIslamic Index. The counters are as attached (Appendix 1).

Simultaneously, 166 counters in the RHBuIslamic Index will be excluded from the index, as they do not meet the requirements of liquidity, universe, suspension and eligibility under the rules of the RHBuIslamic Index. The counters are as attached (Appendix 2).

The RHBuIslamic Index in total comprises 345 stocks listed on the KLSE. Only common stocks are included in the index with other shares such as preferred shares, income securities, convertible notes, warrants, rights, mutual funds and closed end fund shares being non-eligible. The following stocks, as attached (Appendix 3) will be stocks of the RHBuIslamic Index as of 3 June 2002.

Values for the RHBuTech Index and RHBuIslamic Index can be viewed daily in the business Malaysian media. Live prices including movements in underlying constituents are available on Bloomberg on RHBI (Index) (Go) and on Reuters on pages RHSA and RHSB.

Values for the RHBuTech IndexRHB Tech Index are also displayed with historical charts on the RHB web-site www.rhb.com.my.
