RHB BANK LAUNCHES The EVO MASTERCARD

Kuala Lumpur, 20 August 2003-RHB Bank Berhad ("RHB Bank") launched today the EVO Mastercard, a credit card for the new generation of young Malaysian professionals. Popular local VeeJay Zalia, voted one of the top 5 most beautiful female personalities in Malaysia, received the first EVO Mastercard from RHB Bank Chairman, Dato' Ali Hassan.

Speaking at the EVO Showcase, Peter England, Head of Consumer Banking said, "Consumer banking is an important growth engine for the bank. In addition to being one of Malaysia's Top 3 home loan providers, the bank has significantly increased our wealth management offerings particularly in unit trusts. Credit cards represent yet another revenue opportunity for consumer banking."

The sleek, futuristic design of the translucent EVO Card spots a strong metallic black and is guaranteed to create a distinctive trendy appeal. The EVO is embedded with the silver palladium, the only one of its kind in Malaysia. Silver Palladium was chosen specifically to match the look and feel of the EVO. This chip will be EMV certified and support a chip based SMART Rewards program in the coming months. The EVO Mastercard is RHB Bank's trademark credit card for the "happening" crowd. EVO is the evolution from just a piece of plastic to a designer card for the young and young-at-heart.
