RHB Bank Puts Lucky Winner in the Driver’s Seat

Kuala Lumpur, 15 April, 2005: Just one guess…that’s all it took Tay Teng Hee to drive away with the Grand Prize of a Proton Gen-2 in the RHB Bank Berhad’s Guess-the-Number-of-Handphone-Boxes Contest.

Tay, 44, a Production Manager, was so overwhelmed by his stroke of good luck that he has yet to decide what to do with his new car. He sent in only one entry form and this is his first win in any competition. With the new car at hand, he said, “The Gen-2 would fit nicely for my family of four,” referring to himself, his wife and their two sons.

The Guess-the-Number-of-Handphone-Boxes Contest was the highlight in a series of road shows that traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and Johor Bahru. The contest boasted other attractive prizes including cash prizes, Siemens CF62 handphones and Panasonic cordless phones.

The contest which concluded in February 2005 was open to all new and existing accountholders, and introducers of accountholders to the RHB My1 Account and the Statement Savings Account.

The prizes were presented to Tay and the other top winners at a simple ceremony held at the concourse area of KL Plaza today. In attendance for the prize-giving were RHB Bank Chief Executive Officer Michael J. Barrett, Chief Operating Officer Thomas T.C. Chen and Head of Consumer Banking Michael Lor. Also present were representatives from Siemens Mobile, Zitron Enterprise and Celcom Berhad.
