More Excitement Expected as RHB Di Hati Kicks Off West Coast Tour
Seremban, May 12, 2005: The RHB Di Hati nationwide roadshow swung over to the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia this week, with promises of even more exciting offers for customers and investors alike.
The roadshow, already on the fourth leg of a tour that began in Kuala Terengganu in June last year, kicked off its West Coast campaign with a grand launching ceremony at the Royal Adelphi Hotel, Seremban, last night.
Gracing the occasion was the Yang DiPertuan Besar, Tuanku Ja’afar Tuanku Abdul Rahman, who was accompanied by the Tuanku Ampuan, Tuanku Najihah bte Tunku Besar Burhanuddin. Also present were the three Undang Luak of Sungai Ujong, Jelubu and Rembau, the Tunku Besar Tampin, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Utama Mohamad Haji Hasan, members of the State Executive Council, State Government officials, state dignitaries and representatives of the media.
he Yang DiPertuan Besar, accompanied by host Dato Sri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Taib, who is the Executive Chairman of RHB Capital Bhd (“RHB Capital”), struck a tabuh, a traditional musical instrument of the local community, to launch the week-long RHB Group drive to enhance its presence in Negeri Sembilan.
Dato Sri Sulaiman said by making Negeri Sembilan its first stop in the West Coast leg of its nationwide roadshow, the RHB Group had shown that it regarded the state as one with great potential for business expansion.
During the dinner held in conjunction with the launching, Dato Sri Sulaiman presented two cheques of RM3,000 each to Siti Hawa Abdul Majid and Dato’ Dr Haji Mohd Nasir Hamzah, who represented their respective colleges Sekolah Dato Undang Musa Al-Haj, Kuala Klawang and Kolej Negeri.
The RHB Capital Executive Chairman also presented another cheque for RM14,000 as part of the RHB Group’s welfare contribution for mosques and suraus in the state.
The presentation of the cheques was followed by the launching of the RHB Di Hati – Negeri Sembilan by Tuanku Ja’afar. Dato Sri Sulaiman then took the royal guests on a tour of the exhibition area where a wide range of products and services from the RHB Group were on display.
Tuanku Ja’afar and Tuanku Najihah were briefed on conventional and Islamic banking products and services offered by RHB Bank Bhd (“RHB Bank”) and RHB Islamic Bank Bhd (“RHB Islamic Bank”), merchant banking products offered by RHB Sakura Merchant Bankers Bhd (“RHB Sakura”) as well as insurance products from RHB Insurance Bhd (“RHB Insurance”).
The royal couple were also given an insight into securities trading, the unit trust business and asset management services by RHB Securities Sdn Bhd (“RHB Securities”), RHB Unit Trust Management Bhd (“RHB Unit Trust”) and RHB Asset Management Sdn Bhd (“RHB Asset Management”)
The RHB Di Hati – Negeri Sembilan roadshow programmes began on Monday, May 9, 2005 with an RHB Corporate Workshop for clients at the Royal Adelphi Hotel. Papers on various topics were presented by RHB Sakura, as well as the Corporate Banking and Treasury Divisions of RHB Bank.
The paper by RHB Sakura focused on Fund Raising in the Malaysian Capital Market. The Corporate Banking topic was Structured Trade Products while the Treasury dwelt on Economic Outlook & Foreign Exchange Update.
In the afternoon session on RHB Investment and You, the topics covered were Market Outlook, Professional Fund Management, Retirement Planning & Your Golden Life, Islamic Money Market and Investment Dos & Don’ts.
These papers were presented by RHB Research Institute Sdn Bhd (“RHB Research”), RHB Asset Management, RHB Unit Trust and the Treasury Division of RHB Bank.
In the evening, RHB Futures Sdn Bhd (“RHB Futures”) presented a paper on Introduction to Stock Index Futures.
On the following day, the Commercial Banking or SMIs Division of RHB Bank, RHB Delta Finance Bhd (“RHB Delta”), RHB Insurance and the Commercial Banking Division of RHB Islamic Bank took participants through the various processes of the SMI sector in the RHB SMI Workshop.
The topics presented were BNM Funded Schemes, CGC Guaranteed Schemes & RHB BizPower, Equipment Financing – Industrial Hire Purchase/Leasing, The Needs of Insurance in the SMI Industry and SMI Business Financing-i & Industrial Hire Purchase-i.
This was followed by a session on Online Payroll Services by the Technology Banking Division of RHB Bank and Payment Services by the Public Sector Division of RHB Islamic Bank.
Participants at the seminar, who included local businessmen, and representatives of various corporations, also had their chance to take home a prize in the Platinum and Gold Contests held in conjunction with the workshops.
Participants were asked to answer several questions and those with the most correct answers won. In the Platinum Contest, there were two first prizes of a 14-inch colour TV each, while in the Gold Contest, the prizes ranged from free hotel accommodation to electrical items.
The participants, as well as many RHB Group clients from Negeri Sembilan, also took the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the many products and services offered at the exhibition hall.
Meanwhile, the various subsidiaries within the RHB Group also launched their individual campaigns throughout Seremban town to woo new clients and to inform existing ones of the exciting new products that are now available.
Booths were set up in various shopping centres in town to promote the wide range of RHB Credit Cards, RHB My1 Home Loan, RHB Unit Trust funds as well as the many RHB Islamic Bank products.
An education seminar was held for a select group of students today. This half-day programme on banking covered topics such as Towards a Banking and Finance Environment, Internet Banking, Utilising Your First Credit Card, Islamic Banking & You as well as a session on pursuing higher education overseas.
Dato Sri Sulaiman said the RHB Di Hati campaign, which had been successfully launched in three East Coast states, had proven to be very effective in bringing the RHB Group’s products and services to the people.
“There is now a greater awareness of our products and services in the states we have already covered. We have, in short, greatly enhanced our presence in these states without even having to open new branches,” he said.
“We intend to keep up the momentum for the rest of the tour to cover the whole country, to continue bringing our products and services to the people. We would also like to thank our new and existing customers for their support and for believing in us,” he added.
