Majlis Iftar - Berbuka Puasa Kumpulan RHB

RHB Complex Bangi, 20 Oct 2005 : About 500 of RHB Group employees from the Klang Valley and Bangi gathered to buka puasa in conjunction with the Majlis Iftar - Berbuka Puasa Kumpulan RHB at RHB Complex in Bangi on Thursday, 20 Oct 2005.

In addition, 70 under-privileged people, comprising children and senior citizens, were guests at the dinner and were later presented with gifts by RHB Group’s Directors and senior management officials.

Cheques of RM5,000 each to five charitable organisations, namely Rumah Anak Yatim Darullzzah Bangi, Yayasan Rabiatul Islamiah Malaysia (YARIM) Taman Keramat Permai, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim / Miskin Kelang, Rumah Orang Tua Seri Setia and the Malaysia Federation of Deaf.

Muslim employees gathered at the surau of the RHB Complex for the reading of the Surah Yassin and Tahlil for the passing of Allahyarham Yang Amat Berbahagia Datin Seri Endon Mahmood, wife of the Prime Minister.

The buka puasa was then followed immediately by the Solat Maghrib and the congregation then proceeded to the cafeteria RHB Complex for a dinner where they were joined by non-Muslim directors, heads of divisions and heads of departments.

After the dinner, cheques were presented to five charity homes followed by distribution of goodie bags containing food and personal items were distributed to the special guests by Directors and Heads of Division who were hosting them at their respective tables. All the children were also presented with a schoolbag each.

After the special guests and non-Muslim employees had left, the Muslim employees returned to the surau for the Solat Isya and teraweh prayers. They then returned to the cafeteria for the moreh before heading for home after a very meaningful and memorable evening.

The event was organised by RHB Group with assistance from the Badan Amal Kebajikan Kakitangan Islam (BAKKIS) and representatives from the various divisions of all the companies within the RHB Group.
