RHB Bank Gr8 Deposit Contest Grand Finals Winners Announced Today
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14, 2006: A father and son, a doctor and a teacher will soon be having the holidays of their dreams, thanks to RHB Bank Berhad. They are the top four winners of the RHB Bank Gr8 Deposit Contest.
The four were among 48 finalists who competed in the Grand Finals, held at the Berjaya Times Square here, today.
Dr. Chuah Seong York, a 45-year-old doctor from Melaka, won the Grand Prize of a 10-day-seven-night European Escapade for two. The European Escapade will take him and his partner to France, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Belgium and England.
A businessman and his son came in second and fourth. Mr. Phang Chow Pung, 66, from Port Klang, who was the most senior contestant, won the seven-day-five-night Aussie Adventure for two to Sydney and Melbourne.
His 41-year-old son, Kah Hwa, won the three-day-two-night trip Leisurely Langkawi, also for two. Kah Hwa is also involved in his father’s business which operates from the same row of shops as RHB Bank’s Port Klang branch. Kah Hwa said his whole family banks with RHB Bank as it is strategically located nearby his shop and offers lots of contests and promotions.
The only woman winner Ms Lam Siew Lee, a 46-year-old teacher from Raub, Pahang won a three-day-two-night trip and accommodation for two to Hong Kong.
The CEO of RHB Bank, Mr Michael J. Barrett, said the Gr8 Deposit Contest was another programme by RHB Bank to reward customers for their relationship with the bank and making RHB their bank of choice.
“The response to the contest was overwhelming. More than 135,000 new accounts were opened from all over Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak during the contest period,” he said.
Mr Barrett said the contest, which went by the tagline “Save and Win”, was to encourage customers to save with RHB Bank and make RHB Bank their bank of choice.
