RHB Bank gets ISO 9001: 2000 award for Credit Card service

KUALA LUMPUR, 16 Nov 2006: RHB Credit Card, recognised as among the most innovative and fastest growing in Malaysia, has earned itself another accolade – the MS ISO 9001: 2000 Award.

The award, recognised internationally, is given only to companies that have demonstrated exceptional quality in services and customer care. RHB Credit Card, which is part of the Consumer Banking Division of RHB Bank Bhd (“RHB Bank”), has been awarded the certification in relation to its services in providing MasterCard and Visa credit cards.

“We are certainly very proud and honoured to receive such a high-level certification,” Head of Consumer Banking, Mr Michael Lor, said. “Our customers, especially those who carry RHB credit cards, will now be assured that they can expect the highest level of service from us.”

“Our customers will now be more confident in our services, knowing that we adhere only to the highest standards,” he added.

RHB Bank is among the leading banks in Malaysia to receive the MS ISO 9001: 2000 Award for its credit card services.

To achieve this award means that RHB Bank has been benchmarked against the best around the world. Its series of processes would have been stringently audited end-to-end to ensure that its products and services met the required internationally recognised standards.

The auditing process would have included judging RHB Bank by the Quality Systems which, among others, involves regular auditing by independent parties. This is to ensure that the bank continuously focuses on customer needs, meets all their requirements and maintains a systematic approach in its operations.

In addition, the bank would have had to put in place a regime of continuous improvements in its processes, policies and productivity, as well as to strive to identify errors and prevent them from happening.

Mr Lor pointed out that RHB Bank had always maintained that continuous improvement was essential to ensure customer satisfaction.

“Customers will continue to expect and demand better products and services, and we will always have to be a step ahead in our creativity and innovativeness to come up with better products and services to meet this demand,” he said.

It is in the process of meeting this new demand from customers that RHB Bank has come up with the most innovative and widest range of credit cards among banks in Malaysia, he added.

In fact, RHB Bank has a card to cater to every type of customer – from the Visa Infinite for the top echelon of society, where almost unlimited spending power is the order of the day, to the Classic cards for those who are just starting out in life.

In between are the Platinum and Gold cards for those who have come up in life and are doing well in their respective careers, and the EVO cards that speak of an exciting lifestyle.

Then, there are the co-branded credit cards, such as the AirAsia MasterCard credit card that enables the cardholder to earn air miles when he or she shops with the card. Another co-branded card is the PlusOne card that helps the cardholder to earn extra reward points for shopping at electrical and electronics retailer Senheng and senQ outlets.
