Experienced hand to lead the team at RHB Asset Management

Kuala Lumpur, 30 Nov 2006: Sharifatul Hanizah Said Ali, who assumes the post of Chief Executive Officer of RHB Asset Management Sdn Bhd tomorrow, has a total of 17 years experience in the financial services industry.

She began her career in the capital markets industry with a bank-backed broking house after graduating from university in 1988.

Sharifatul joined Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) in 1991 as an investment executive in the Investment Operations Division. She rose through the ranks before proceeding to join the Group Chief Executive Office as manager.

In 1999, she took up the post of Assistant Vice-President and subsequently Vice-President at Pengurusan Pelaburan ASN Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PNB.

Sharifatul has extensive and diverse experience encompassing the field of investment analysis, portfolio management and equity trading. She is currently a licensed Fund Manager’s Representative as well as a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a Certified Financial Planner.

During her tenure in PNB, she also served on the boards of both listed and private companies invested by PNB as a nominee of the state investment corporation.

“With her wide experience and expertise in the business of investment, we expect her to take RHB Asset Management to new heights,” said the company’s Chairman Dato Abdullah Mat Noh.

“In the 17 years that she has spent in the industry, Sharifatul has shown that she has her fingertips on the pulse of the sector,” added Dato Abdullah.
