A day out shopping pays off for RHB Credit Card holders

Kuala Lumpur, 28 December 2006: Going on a shopping spree has its rewards, especially if one pays for his purchases with the RHB Credit Card.

This certainly rings true for a total of 77 RHB Credit Card holders who won cash rewards under the RHB Big Cash Payout contest in October and November 2006. Under this campaign, RHB Bank is giving out cash payout totalling to RM 60,000 every month and up to RM 240,000 throughout the campaign period.

The big winners for October are Encik Ahmad Haji Ishak, 55, from Kuala Lumpur and Encik Zaidi Zakaria, 38, from Terengganu. Mr Hon Nyok Kwee, 42, from Johor, won the month’s second biggest payout.

In November, 38-year-old Mr Fong Kin Meng of Kuala Lumpur took the highest payout. Coming in second was Encik Masyerin Mohamad Nor, 32, of Selangor and third was Encik Sahrizan Md Said, 26, also from Selangor.

A total of 33 RHB Credit Card holders were rewarded in October and another 40 were in luck in November. Altogether, they took home a total of RM120,000, thanks to RHB Bank Bhd (“RHB Bank”), the bank with the widest range of credit cards in the Malaysian market today.

“This is our way of rewarding our loyal customers, especially those who have been using their RHB Credit Cards regularly over the years,” said Head of Consumer Banking at RHB Bank, Mr Michael Lor, as he congratulated the winners.

The RHB Big Cash Payout follows a very successful Spend & Win contest held in conjunction with the screening of the Hollywood blockbuster Superman Returns in June 2006.

The current promotion, launched on 9 October 2006, is a two-in-one campaign that gives RHB Credit Card holders exclusive and irresistible offers when they shop, as well as a chance to win big in the BigCash Payout contest.

All the RHB Credit Card holders have to do is pay for their purchases with their RHB Credit Card. Each credit card slip entitles them to one chance for a Big Cash Payout if they shop on a weekday. They get five chances for every credit card slip if they make their purchases on the weekends.

Head of Cards & Unsecured Business at RHB Bank, Mr Gan Kheng Chai, said shoppers could win up to 10 times the amount they had spent on a single receipt on their RHB Credit Card, up to a maximum capping.

The contest, which ends on 31 January 2007, is held in conjunction with a series of monthly promotions exclusively for RHB Credit Card holders.

In October, the Ravishing Raya Special brought various offers for the Aidilfitri celebrations. Lovers of IT and electronic items were in for a treat in November, the month of Great Gadgets Giveaways.

December is the Travel Escapade and Christmas month, during which RHB Credit Card holders are entitled to special offers to various holiday destinations. In January, it will be the Gong Xi Fa Cai deals, to usher in the Year of the Boar.

The winners, who turned up the RHB Big Cash Payout showcase, held at Ground Floor Highstreet, 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, to receive their prizes today were in for another treat. They were given another chance to win more money and other great prizes in the Grab the Big Cash bonus game.

The showcase, which kicked off yesterday (27 December 2006), will be held until 2 January 2007 at Ground Floor Highstreet, 1 Utama Shopping Centre.

Visitors to the showcase can sign up for the RHB Credit Cards to give themselves a chance to win big in the BigCash Payout. In addition, they can take part in various fun and games activities during the entire duration of the showcase.
