RHB Banking Group Steps-up Search for Nurin Jazlin

Kuala Lumpur, 19 September 2007: RHB Banking Group has taken all possible efforts and pro-active approaches to facilitate the finding of Nurin Jazlin Jazimin, the child reported missing since 20 August. The latest initiative being taken is by installing Nurin's photograph in all RHB Banking Group's Automated Teller Machine (ATM) electronically. Customers who wish to do transactions at RHB Bank's ATMs nationwide will view Nurin's picture before any transactions can be made. This is hoped to enhance the attention of the missing child to its customers. The picture will be made available at the ATMs tomorrow.
Apart from this initiative, RHB Banking Group has also printed and distributed Nurin's photograph via a "Missing Child Poster" to all RHB Bank branches throughout Malaysia to get our customers' cooperation and attention with the hope that anyone who has information on her whereabouts will come forward, so as to assist the police in the search.
A number of its staff also played their part by distributing posters and leaflets to the public at public places and shopping complex such as Ampang Shopping Complex, Sogo and LRT stations.
For Nurin's case, RHB Banking Group, as a caring corporate citizen has been involved in publishing her photograph in the local dailies in the hopes of increasing public exposure on the case.
"We continue to hope and pray that she will be safely reunited with her family as soon as possible. With various approaches being taken and all channels utilised by RHB Banking Group, we hope we will see a light at the end of the tunnel", said Datuk Azlan Zainol, Chairman of RHB Bank Berhad.
This effort to assist the Police to locate the missing children is part of the RHB Banking Group's corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme called "Missing Children - Reuniting Families" that was launched in co-operation with PDRM on 23 July 2007. Apart from playing the banking group's part in assisting the Police to locate missing children, it also hopes to be able to create awareness of the many cases of missing children.
Under the CSR programme, RHB Banking Group will use its resources, specifically its network of about 180 branches nationwide, to disseminate information about missing children by distributing leaflets and posters. The advertisements in the newspapers also come under this endeavour. In addition, the Group is also working on programmes to create awareness among parents and school children on crime prevention, which will be rolled out in the near future.
