1. RHB Bank Berhad & RHB Islamic Bank Berhad (“RHB”) is organising a “RHB Save Big-Spend Smart Contest” (“the Contest”) that will run from 23 June 2009 until 22 October 2009 (16 weeks), both dates inclusive (“Contest Period”).
  2. Subject to clause 3 below, ALL persons who has fulfilled the criteria specified below are eligible to participate in this Contest (“Eligible Customer”):-

    Description   Eligibity
    2.1 Conventional Consumer Individual Accountholders
    Participating RHB Current Accounts – MaxCash Account, My1 Account, Infinity Current Account, Ordinary Current Account and Basic Current Account and/or Savings Account – MySave Account, MaxSave Account, Passbook Savings Account, Statement Savings Account, Junior Savings Account and Basic Savings Account.   Every incremental balance in multiple of RM200.00 will entitle customer to one (1) contest entry.
    Fixed Deposit Accounts – MaxFD3*, Ordinary Fixed Deposit, Senior Fixed Deposit and FD P.A.Y.S and/or Multi-Currency Call Deposit and Term Deposit   Every multiple of RM1,000.00 new placement will entitle customer to one (1) contest entry.
    New customer with non-preexisting Deposit Account with RHB (“New Deposit Customer”)   For any new Deposit Customers who open any participating accounts according to the minimum requirement stipulated in this Contest will be entitled to additional five (5) contest entries.
    2.2 Conventional Commercial / SME Accounts
    RHB Ordinary Current Account   Every incremental balance in multiple of RM1,000.00 will entitle customer to one (1) contest entry.
    Fixed Deposit Accounts – MaxFD3*, Ordinary Fixed Deposit and FD P.A.Y.S and/or Multi-Currency Call Deposit and Term Deposit   Every multiple of RM5,000.00 new placement will entitle customer to one (1) contest entry.
    New Deposit Customer   For any new Deposit Customers who open any participating accounts according to the minimum requirement stipulated in this Contest will be entitled to additional five (5) contest entries.
    * The deposit placement for MaxFD3 is subject to a minimum of RM10,000.00 per placement.
    2.3 RHB Islamic Accounts – Individual Accountholders
    Mudharabah Current Account-i   Every incremental balance in multiple of RM200.00 will entitle customer to one (1) contest entry.
    Mudharabah General Investment Account-i Commodity Murabahah Deposit-i (subject to the availability of the product)   Every multiple of RM1,000.00 new placement will entitle customer to one (1) contest entry.
    New Deposit Customer   For any new Deposit Customers who open any participating accounts according to the minimum requirement stipulated in this Contest will be entitled to additional five (5) contest entries.
    2.4 RHB Islamic Accounts – Commercial/SME Accounts
    Mudharabah Current Account-i   Every incremental balance in multiple of RM1,000.00 will entitle customer to one (1) contest entry.
    Mudharabah General Investment Account-i

    Commodity Murabahah Deposit-i (subject to the availability of the product)    		   Every multiple of RM5,000.00 new placement will entitle customer to one (1) contest entry.
    New Deposit Customer   For any new Deposit Customers who open any participating accounts according to the minimum requirement stipulated in this Contest will be entitled to additional five (5) contest entries.

    2.5 Credit/debit card holders
    “Participating Debit Cards” – All RHB Visa and/or MasterCard debit cards including joint cardholder.

    “Participating Credit Cards” – All RHB Visa and/or MasterCard credit cards including supplementary cards.
    Participating Debit Cards   Spend a minimum of RM20.00 in a single receipt will entitle customer to one (1) contest entry.
    Participating Debit Cards and Participating Credit Cards   Spend a minimum of RM50.00 in a single receipt to be entitled to three (3) contest entries.
    Participating Debit Cards and Participating Credit Cards   Spend a minimum of RM80.00 and more in a single receipt to be entitled to five (5) contest entries
    Participating Credit Cards   Every new approved card will be entitled to five (5) contest entries
    Participating Credit Cards   Every approved balance transfer application form with a minimum of RM3,000.00 will be entitled to five (5) contest entries.


    2.6 Further to Clause 2.1 – 2.4, all deposit placements must be made with new funds and Eligible Customer must maintain such deposit placement in the said account until and including the day the weekly, monthly and grand prize draws are carried out in order to qualify for the weekly, monthly and grand prizes.
       
    2.7 Definition of SME

    An enterprise is considered a Small Medium Enterprise (SME) in each of the respective sectors based on the Annual Sales Turnover OR Number of Full-Time Employees as shown in the tables below.

    Notwithstanding the above definition, this contest will not be applicable to groups of companies managed by our Corporate & Investment Banking.
    RHB reserves the right to accord the SME definition on any participating company subject to its own internal account management guidelines.

  3. The following persons shall not be eligible to participate in this Contest:
    1. Permanent and/or contract employees of RHB group of companies and their immediate family members
    2. Persons who were formerly under the employment of RHB Bank & RHB Islamic Bank from January 2009 onwards;
    3. Representatives and/or agents (including advertising and promotion agents) of RHB and their immediate family members
    4. Individuals below the age of 18 – In cases involving Junior Savings Account, the Parents / Guardians of the accountholder will be considered as Eligible Customer.
  4. The prizes

    4.1 Customers who fulfill the criteria stated in Clause 2 above will stand an opportunity to win the following prizes:
     
    1. 3 x Grand Prize - Mercedes Benz C200K
    2. 2 X Monthly Prize - Perodua Myvi
    3. 1 X Weekly Prize – LCD TV
      The abovementioned prizes will be given on an “As Is” basis and the Winners shall be responsible to make the necessary arrangements. All tax charges, registration fees, insurance and incidental costs in this regard shall be borne by the Winners.
       
    4.2 Weekly Draws will be based on the following dates:-

    4.3 Monthly Draws are based on 4 consecutive weeks as defined in Clause 4.2 above. For example, draw for Month 1 is from 23 June – 22 July 2009.
  5. Mechanics for the selection of winners are as follows:

    5.1 Weekly Winner
    1. An Eligible Customer as stated in Clause 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5 above will be accorded an automatic entry and will be in the running for the Contest.
    2. Eligible Customer will be short-listed weekly and accorded with the number of entries accordingly. For example, an incremental balance of RM2,000.00 in a participating Savings Account will entitle the Eligible Customer to ten (10) contest entries whilst a spending of RM60.00 via the participating Credit/Debit card entitle the Eligible Customer to three (3) contest entries.
    3. A total of 50 Eligible Customers from each category as specified in Clause 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5 will be randomly selected from the total weekly Eligible Customers. From this pool, another random selection will be conducted to pick one (1) Weekly Winner.
    4. The contest entries for the weekly short-listed candidate will only qualify for the week. No carry forward of entries shall be allowed. The winner of the weekly prize shall not be eligible for the subsequent weekly draws.


    5.2 Monthly Winner
    1. An Eligible Customer must have an incremental balance at the end of the said month before his/her participation is considered valid.
    2. At the end of each four (4) weeks, the total Eligible Customers for the four (4) weeks will be tabulated and a total of 100 Eligible Customers from each category as specified in Clause 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5 will be randomly selected. From this pool, another random selection will be conducted to pick two (2) Monthly Winner(s).
    3. The contest entries for the monthly short-listed candidate will only qualify for the month. No carry forward of entries shall be allowed. The winner of the monthly draw will not be eligible for the subsequent monthly draws.


    5.3 Grand Prize Winners
    1. Only Eligible Customers with an incremental balance at the end of the Campaign Period will be considered valid participation and at the end of the Contest period, the total Eligible Customers for the entire 16 weeks will be tabulated and a total of 1,000 Eligible Customers from each category as specified in Clause 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5 will be randomly selected. From this pool, another random selection will be conducted to pick three (3) Grand Prize winners.
    2. The short-listed winners will be verified and in case of failure to qualify for the criteria as stated in clause 2 above, the next on the pre-qualifying winners list will be selected.
  6. The maximum number of prizes that an Eligible Customer stands to win under this Contest is one (1) weekly, one (1) monthly and one (1) grand prize.
  7. Each short-listed winner will be contacted at the latest telephone numbers furnished to RHB as shown in RHB’s records at any time during office hours (9:00am – 6:00pm) from Monday to Friday to answer two (2) simple questions. Should the first attempt to call the short-list winner fail, i.e. no reply, telephone number not in service or no connection, etc. another two (2) attempts will be made. Once the attempts are unsuccessful, RHB has the right to select the next pre-qualifying winner. RHB shall not be held liable in the event the eligible winner(s) cannot be contacted for whatsoever reasons. Upon successful contact, the short-listed winner will be required to answer two (2) simple questions correctly in order to win.
    1. Should there be a case where a short-listed winner is unable to answer the questions correctly, the next on the pre-qualifying winners list will be selected to answer the questions.
    2. The calls will be made only to the primary accountholder (for Individual accounts), primary cheque signatory (for SME accounts) and primary cardholder (for Debit & Credit Cards).
  8. For the purpose of this Contest, joint accountholders will be treated as one accountholder.
  9. If, at any time during the Contest Period, any Eligible Customer withdraws or closes the account for any reason whatsoever, his/her participation in this contest becomes null and void.
  10. The participant’s during the Contest Period must ensure that his/her account must be valid and in good standing as so determined by RHB at its absolute discretion to be eligible for participation in the contest and/or for winning the prizes.
  11. The deposit placement for the purpose of this Contest during the Contest Period, if made by way of cheques are subject to clearance and will only be considered good if not returned dishonoured.
  12. Notwithstanding the minimum deposit requirements as stated in Clause 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4 above for the purpose of this Contest, the initial deposit or minimum placement requirements for respective participating product or any campaign running concurrently by the Bank shall still apply.
  13. Refunded, disputed, unauthorised or fraudulent retail transactions, cash withdrawals, payment of annual card membership fees, interest payments, charges for cash withdrawals and any other form of service fees shall not be taken into account in the calculation of qualifying entries for the purpose of this Contest.
  14. Non-monetary prize won are not exchangeable for cash. Prizes will be given or issued in the name of the accountholder and winners are not allowed to transfer their prizes to any other person.
  15. In the event that any prizes are awarded to and received by persons who:
    1. Are not Eligible Customer in the Contest; or
    2. Are Eligible Customer but have committed fraudulent or wrongful acts in relation to their banking accounts, credit and debit card or loans and/or any transactions made thereof;

    RHB reserves the right to disqualify such persons from participating in the Contest and/or from redeeming their prizes.
  16. The deposit is also subject to the Rules of the Association of Banks in Malaysia and to any amendments introduced subsequently.
  1. RHB shall not be liable for any default in respect of the Contest due to any act of God, war, riot, strike, lockout, industrial action, fire, flood, drought, storm, technical or system failures or any event beyond the reasonable control of RHB.
  2. RHB’s decisions on all matters relating to the Contest, including the determination of Eligible Customer and participants, shall be final and no further correspondence shall be entertained.
  3. Winners will be notified by RHB in any manner it deems fit.
  4. RHB reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend the Contest without any prior notice. Any cancellation, termination or suspension of the Contest by RHB shall not entitle the participant to any claim or compensation against RHB for any loss or damage incurred by the participant as a direct and indirect result of such cancellation, termination or suspension.
  5. RHB reserves the right at its absolute discretion to vary, delete or add to any of these Terms & Conditions and/or to change the Contest prizes from time to time without giving any prior notice.
  6. By participating in the Contest, participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and allow RHB and their agencies at their sole discretion the right to use, publish and display the names and other particulars of the participants including but not limited to their photographs and/or I/C numbers and/or audio and/or visual recording for advertising and publicity purposes.
  7. Participants shall assume full liability and responsibility in case of any liability, mishap, injury, damage, claim or accidents resulting from their participation in this contest, redemption and/or use of the prizes.
  8. Winners are required to attend a prize presentation ceremony and other publicity programmes as and when required at their own cost and expense.
  9. All transportation, accommodation, administration costs and personal costs including but not limited to any other costs, fees and/or expenses that are incurred to participate in this Contest and/or redemption and/or usage of the prizes shall be the sole responsibility of the winners.
  10. In the event of any inconsistencies between the English or Bahasa Malaysia version of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
